Profile pictures

Wow, how many articles are out there nowadays telling you how to take the perfect picture! I can honestly say and one thing that has bugged me throughout this process is people have used to same photo for years… I mean years.. I started online dating 7 years ago and these men are still using the same picture…. why? Isn’t it obvious that they are going to look different now.. 🤔

Here is a snapshot of some info out there…I really don’t know where these stats are from but it has made me laugh 😀

For men:

Take your photo outside. If you take your photo in the wilderness, you can expect 19 percent more messages.

Just make sure it’s not a selfie. Guys who take selfies will receive 8 percent fewer messages than those who don’t.

For women:

If selfies are your game, keep on playing. You’ll get 4 percent more messages, so, it’s worth it.

But take your selfies out of the woods. Unlike men, women with outdoorsy photos receive a 40 percent decrease in messages.
For all humans:
Go easy on the cropping. If there’s a full-body shot somewhere in your online gallery, you’ll get 203 percent more messages.

Use a solo picture for your main image. If your first picture is a group photo, the number of first messages you receive will decrease by 42 percent. Probably because as wonderful as it is that you have friends, it’s annoying to decipher which of the six people you are.

As difficult as it may be, leave your beloved kitten out of the picture. At least the first one. Online daters who pose with their pet in their primary photo receive 53 percent fewer messages.
